3 AI Studying Tips to Help You Work Smarter
As we near a chilling Bloomington winter and finals, it’s important to make sure we're continuing to try our best. Kelley classes like Business Law and Economics can feel like you’re tackling a mountain of terms and ideas. But, there is a way to flatten the slope and make that exam feel less daunting. AI can help us by conveniently generating new information, and filling in for our professors when they’re not there to answer questions. We’ll look at three key tips to help you study smarter and more efficiently, so you can spend less time in the library and more time wondering how you’re going to secure that internship next summer.
#1 Your Personal Tutor
Slides and notes aren't everything. As you probably know, it can be helpful to have a concept explained in different ways to reinforce understanding. Sure, a few people can look at the words "Segment Margin" and perfectly identify its relationships with other key figures in Managerial Accounting. However, most others would greatly benefit from an explanation. That's where AI comes in. Through prompting your AI to create a visual, example, or an analogy, you can transform the way you study. Start off with simple definitions, then prompt AI to give you a more in depth explanation or case-based analysis. With smarter prompting and these tools, you can upgrade your studying to be prepared for even the most difficult questions.
#2 Make The Test
The best way to practice for a test is taking a practice test first, but professors don't always give out a practice test. It could also be the case that the practice test doesn't cover a specific topic you'd like more practice on. Through AI, you can create your own practice exams. Prompt it with the topics you want it to cover and you can customize it further by the question formatting, the type of question, or whatever else suits your studying style. By creating your own practice exams, you can study smarter and feel more confident in your test-taking ability
#3 Be Creative
This sounds a little cliche, but when using AI in general, your ability to create detailed and specific prompts is what will give you the best results. For studying, you should be finding new ways to improve your process, especially if your test scores are lower than you’d like. Simply asking AI “How can I study better” or “How can I prompt you better?” are easy ways to learn new study methods. While this last tip might seem obvious, your willingness to learn and utilize AI will be the greatest determinant of your success.
