About Us

Crowd of Kelley students carrying a banner for Homecoming

Since its founding in 1920 as the School of Commerce and Finance with 70 enrolled students what is now the Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business has been teaching students about business and preparing them for careers in the field. We think a Kelley education is just a beginning of a lifelong journey of learning. At Kelley we don’t just offer a degree—we outfit you for life.

Our Mission

Kelley Outfitters is an experiential learning course for undergraduate students.

In this course, students take full ownership of the Kelley Outfitters website and are responsible for its operation and management. Through this hands-on experience, they learn about e-commerce, product selection, marketing, operations, and financial performance by running a real business.

Supported by faculty and staff from the Kelley School of Business Marketing Department, students quickly learn that an e-commerce store never sleeps—this course operates 24/7. Our mission also includes carefully curating the products we offer so that, like the education we provide, they are built to last a lifetime.

We recognize that consumption choices impact both society and the environment. Our product decisions are guided by principles of sustainability and social responsibility. Many of our items are proudly made in the USA to reduce supply chain distance and minimize carbon emissions from long-haul transport—ensuring a more responsible path from production to your doorstep.
